22nd Winter School of Slovene Language

APPLICATION FORM

 

A winter intensive language course of Slovene is aimed for those wishing to learn as much as possible in two weeks only, and learn about Slovene culture and society in the accompanying programme.

 

Course and duration

25 January–5 February 2016

Morning course

  • four 45-minute lessons a day, 40 school hours
  • Monday to Friday, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm
  • regular language course or preparation for the advanced level exam
  • more about the course organisation

Afternoon elective course

If you want your studies to be more intensive, you can decide to attend an optional course, i. e. two additional language classes a day. The course will start on Tuesday, 26 January 2016.

  • two 45-minute lessons a day, 18 school hours
  • Monday to Friday, from 2.00 to 3.30 pm
  • with regard to your level of knowledge of Slovene, you can select from among the following courses:
    - beginners' level: Conversation and Phonetics,
    - intermediate level: Conversation, Grammar,
    - advanced level: Conversation.

Individual elective courses will be held if at least 5 students enrol.

Certificates

Certificate of Attendance
At the end of the Winter School you will receive an official Certificate of Attendance of a Slovene language course at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ljubljana.

 

Credit points

After successful completion of the course participants are awarded 3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System) credit points (morning and elective course).

 

Certificate of Slovene
If you want to obtain an official certificate of Slovene you can take the Exam of Slovene at the end of the course.

 

Accompanying programme

When you are not busy with language classes, you will be able to take part in our Winter School accompanying programme, which includes lectures, workshops, cultural events and sport activities. These activities take place in the afternoons and are included in the tuition fee.

 

Participants

Anyone with an interest in learning Slovene is very welcome. However, participants must be at least 18 years old. More about participants.

  

Prices

EUR 405 for morning course and accompanying programme (25 January–5 February)
EUR 158 for elective afternoon course (26 January–5 February)

Tuition fee covers the morning course as well as the accompanying programme. The textbook is not included in the price, you will buy it at the course after the results of the placement test are known.

 

Registration and Payment

You can apply for the course via internet no later than 11 January 2016. After we have received your application form, we will send you the invoice by regular or e-mail. 

 

The tuition fee must be paid in full no later than 15 January 2016. You should send your payment receipt via e-mail, fax or postal address. Please bring along a copy of the receipt when you join the course in order to help clarify possible misunderstandings. 

 

When we have received the payment receipt we will send you the letter of acceptance as well as information material on the Winter School.

Scholarships

Members of Slovene ethnic minorities in other countries and descendants of Slovene expatriates and emigrants can apply for the scholarship. Applications should reach us before 31 December 2015
