When is the written exam and when is the oral exam?
Exam dates are available on our webpage and in the information brochures provided by the Examination Centre.
Generally, written and oral exams at the Basic Level are scheduled on the same day. Candidates are informed of the date and the time of the exam on registration at the institution of their choice.
The written and the oral parts of the exam at the Intermediate and Advanced Levels are generally not on the same day; consequently, two dates are specified for each exam session, a date for the written exam (generally on a Saturday), and a date for the oral exam (generally on the Friday before the written exam or the Monday after the written exam).
Written exam dates are fixed and will not be rescheduled, while candidates receive an invitation for the oral exam a few days before the actual exam by regular mail to the address they have provided in the registration form. In addition to the date, the exact time and location of the oral exam are specified. Candidates should pay attention to the details specified in the invitation: the oral exam may be scheduled on the Friday before the written exam as well as the Monday and Tuesday after it, if there are many candidates. The Examination Centre reserves the right to change the date of the oral part of the exam, as has been explained in the informative brochure and on our webpage.
